Adulting is canceled. Recess is on.
What if adults had recess too — not as an ironic throwback, but as a radical act of joy, healing, and resistance?
The Vision
A world where adults feel safe enough to be silly, curious enough to play, and strong enough to rest. Where healing looks like laughter, and community looks like recess.
We believe joy is political, rest is revolutionary, and adulting doesn’t have to mean pretending you’ve got it all figured out.
What This Is
A movement disguised as a playground. A healing space disguised as a joke. A cultural intervention disguised as fun.
Where inner children meet outer adults. Where capitalist critique meets joy-based design. Where people remember how to live — together, creatively, inconsistently.
Three Pillars
- PLAY — No agenda, just curiosity. Recess as sacred time.
- PERMISSION — To quit, rest, restart, be inconsistent, be enough.
- PROTEST — Against overwork, fake productivity, and adulting as performance.
What It Could Become
- Events: Adult field days, IRL recess meetups, community co-play
- Merch: Tees, pins, notebooks — branded “I’m on Recess”
- Corporate Recess Kits: Anti-burnout team building (the subversive kind)
- Digital tools: Recess rituals, creative breaks, solo or social
- Community: A tribe of “Grown-Up Children” — curious but critical, free but thoughtful
The Aesthetic
90s Nickelodeon meets slow living zine. Emotionally safe but not precious. Intellectually sharp but not academic. Weird, funny, real, and wildly human.
This is not a productivity hack. This is your life back.
